On the official SEGA Test website, the developer outlined what the test comprises of, how to participate, and the rewards for successfully completing the test.
The test will be 60 minutes long with 60 questions covering the history of the company and its games.
The questions fall under various categories, including: Arcade, Consumer , Global, and General Entertainment.
Fans who score a SEGA IQ of 60 or higher will earn the title of SEGA 60th Master.
Title holders will be placed into a competition where winners can get an Aime card with a display stand.
Participants who get the same score as Sega Shirou, a fictional developer, will automatically be entered into a draw to win signed photos.
Meanwhile, 60 lucky people can win 60th Anniversary goods.
Who can enter the SEGA test?
Unfortunately, prizes will only be shipped in and around Japan. However, there appear to be no regional limits on who can take part.
The company has also made a seminar available to test yourself ahead of the exam. The test is free, requires a Facebook or Twitter account, and a smartphone or PC.
The test will take place on 23 January 2021 at 8 pm Japanese Standard Time (JST) and on 24 January 2021, at 10 am and 5 pm JST respectively.
Advanced registration will take place on the SEGA Test website on 12 January 2021. The company will announce the results on 6 February 2021.
