Oppo’s ‘waterfall screen’ smartphone is a gorgeous all-screen concept
Oppo only recently sunk the selfie camera beneath a screen of its latest concept smartphone, but now, the company’s coming for the bezels.
In new photos shared by the Chinese smartphone maker’s VP Brian Shen, Oppo’s new screen almost eliminates the size bezels of the device by wrapping the screen around the phone — even more so than the Find X. Oppo’s calling this the “waterfall screen”.
An all screen smartphone is the manufacturer’s dream, but it does present issues. With the screen extending around the sides of the phone introduces mistouches, an annoying effect of curved screens.
While this problem has improved on recent devices — like the Galaxy Note 9 and P30 Pro — it’s not clear how Oppo plans to get around this with a screen that wraps 88 degrees around the device.
Oppo also hasn’t divulged any specs for this device either.
That said, it does look gorgeous.
