Xiaomi’s next phone will have five rear cameras, one with a 108MP sensor
Smartphones with enormous camera sensors are set to become the norm going into 2020. A new teaser from Chinese firm Xiaomi this week points to the debut of its new phone, and that phone’s camera credentials.
Dubbed the Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro, the phone for creative types is set to debut with a 108MP camera sensor from Samsung, along with four other rear cameras.
Earlier this year, we questioned claims that 108MP camera phones would become a thing before 2020. Samsung then announced its sensor in August.

However, up to this point, we’ve only seen it used on one device — the completely overkill Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha.
The Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro is also said to include 5x optical zoom, but it’s not yet clear if it’ll use periscope technology or focal range trickery to get that effect.
As for other specs, we’ll know for sure when the device makes its debut on 5 November.
