Ex-cricket captain Michael Vaughan punches an interviewer. Real or fake?
A video clip has surfaced on YouTube showing former England cricket captain Michael Vaughan being recorded for a television interview.
Vaughan represented England and Yorkshire, and was known for his shrewd captaincy and man-management skills. He captained England in 51 Tests between 2003 and 2008, winning 26 (a national record) and losing 11.
The clip which has surfaced begins midway through a question where the interviewer says to Vaughan: “You must be a man split in two by this principle?”
Vaughan takes offence at the question, begins to storm out of the interview, but not before punching the interviewer in the throat on his way out.
It’s an astonishing piece of footage but there’s a good chance that it’s setup.
But for what purpose? A new ad campaign? Perhaps a new television sports show? Or just a moment of real, raw emotion?
You decide.
