Twitter’s homepage normally houses a demo video that explains the microblogging site to newcomers. The video shows us the various way to use Twitter and how to get the most out of the site. The demo video has now been replaced by a new video titled: “Follow your interest. Discover your world”.
The new video showcases high profile Twitter users talking about what they care about, who they follow and what they want to know. Successful entrepreneur Richard Branson (@RichardBranson) says he uses Twitter, “to learn about things and share what people are doing to make the world a better place”. CNN talk show host Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) uses Twitter to learn about his guests before they come on the show. Recording artist Snoop Dogg (@SnoopDogg) says he follows Martha Stewart (@MarthaStewart) because she keeps it “baked and flaked”.
The video also features astronaut Paolo Nespoli (@astro_paolo) sending his thoughts and tweets from space. Many of the personalities featured say they use Twitter to find out what their fans want and how to go about giving it to them.
“The people who use Twitter make it special because for any interest we might have, somebody is tweeting about it. A message that encapsulates the video below.
