Scientifically accurate Sonic the Hedgehog is slow, eats poop

If you’re anything like us, you spent large portions of your youth trying to guide Sega’s gaming hero Sonic the Hedgehog through level after level at the extremely high speed. As anyone who’s ever looked at a hedgehog will tell you though, the game isn’t exactly grounded in gritty realism.

What you might not know however is exactly how far away Sonic and his animal friends are from their animal counterparts. This video, from Animation Domination High-Def, will give you that information and make sure you never think the same way when playing a Sonic game again. What Sonic does with poop for instance will probably have you thinking twice about exactly how cute hedgehogs actually are. You’ll also question his relationship with Tails and realise that Knuckles is terrifying.
