Planning a trip to Aus? Use Airbnb? You can now sleep in Ikea
If you’re going to be in Australia in the next week or so, you could sleep in an ordinary hotel bed or you could sleep in an Ikea showroom. According to the Sydney Morning Herald, you won’t even have to pay for the chance to spend a night among all the Swedish flat pack furniture you could ever hope for.
The Australian newspaper reports that the retailer will be transforming its room sets into three “quirky” accommodation options for three groups of people looking for somewhere to stay.
Apparently the guests will be given tips on how to make their homes more Airbnb friendly, and will also be given a “remarkable wake-up call” to “welcome the first day of spring”.
The Ikea cost may be free, but anyone interested will have to pay an AU$12Airbnb admin fee.
Right, you are now free to start making your 500 Days of Summer jokes.
