Powertime now lets you manage all your bills in one place

Powertime, the prepaid electricity payments service, has announced the launch of a service which it says will allow users to pay any bill online.

According to the company, which has been in operation since 2009, the new feature allows users to pay bills from more than 400 bill issuers and charities, including Telkom, Vodakom, SABC, Eskom, Top TV, Sunday Times, UCT, Home Choice, as well as any municipal bill (electricity, water, rates, taxes) and many others, as long as it has an EasyPay number.

The service also allows people to manage their bills using a central dashboard as well as giving them the choice to pay off the full amount or just a part of it.

The new functionality is first available on the company’s website and, it says, will be soon available on all Powertime mobile applications (iPhone, Android, Blackberry and Windows).

“We are extremely pleased to introduce this new free service to our customers. The diversification of our services on www.powertime.co.za is an opportunity for us to extend and improve the customer experience on the platform”, says Sebastien Lacour, Powertime’s Managing Director.

According to the company, Bills can be paid using any supported payment method: credit card, EFT and via the PayGenius electronic wallet on Powertime.

While Powertime has been around for a number of years now, things haven’t always been easy for the company. In 2011, Cape Town users were prevented from using the service following confusion on the part of the city around exactly how it was allowed to operate.
