Story of assault, attempted rape shocks Twitter

A Twitter user Saturday revealed an horrific story of assault, theft and attempted rape by her neighbour.

“My neighbor broke into my place around 4 this morning. Tried to rape me. Stole my MacBook. He was caught with it,” read the trending tweet.

It gained some 290 replies and 1500 retweets within six hours of publishing.

The man has since been arrested.

#NationalPoliceDay celebrated in Gauteng

South Africans on Saturday celebrated National Police Day, paying homage to the Force and remembering those who have fallen in the line of duty.

“Mr. Fearfokkol” (aka Minister of Police Fikile Mbalula) was one of the more notable carriers of the narrative.

#NationalPoliceDay trended for much of Saturday afternoon.

#ReigerParkHigh trends after NSFW video of principle, students emerges

Reiger Park High School in Boksburg, Johannesburg became the latest school in the region to be rocked by teacher-related scandals.

The school’s principle resigned after a video emerged of him engaging in sexual activities with school girls in his office.

The extremely graphic video appeared on @AdvBarryRoux’s Twitter account — a known parody of Advocate Barry Roux — where it received more than 800 retweets.

The video then quickly spread across the social network.

Users have expressed outrage at the video, calling for all who share it to be charged and arrested.

Gauteng Education later issued a statement on Twitter, with MEC Panyaza Lesufi expressing “disappointment and disgust”.

The department will also report the principle to the South African Council of Educators, but Twitter called for his arrest.

#ReigerParkHigh trended on Twitter for much of the weekend.
