Stand back planet Earth, because Disney’s about to release its own Emoji Movie. This is at least according to commenters on Wreck-It Ralph 2‘s second trailer.
Officially known as Ralph Breaks The Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2, the flick will see our eponymous large-handed but lovable brute and princess Vanellope von Schweetz venture beyond the confines of their arcade.
Here they’ll run into Twitter, Facebook, and a wad of other Disney intellectual properties on a mission to find a replacement part for the broken Sugar Rush arcade machine.
Commentary on social hierarchies, self-memes and intelligent meta-jokes are all sneaked in thanks to Rich Moore, Clark Spenser and Phil Johnson — the team behind the first flick and Zootopia.
Visually it remains a gorgeous, vivid and vibrant little trailer, with John C. Reilly and Sarah Silverman reprising their voice roles.
It’s currently the 17th most popular video on YouTube in South Africa, racking up 6.2-million views, and 153 000 likes.
