Finding wallpapers for your smartphone or PC can sure be a chore. And if you don’t know where to look, the process is a long, agonising slog through Google Search. But, given the right tools, you can find exactly what you’re looking for without fuss.

Here are just eight great websites to do just that.

Looking for high-constrast, colourful or high-resolution wallpapers? Wallhaven hosts a number of pictures to suit your style, and allows visitors to filter based on colour, size or browse by hashtag. And it’s finally out of alpha.

The undisputed repository for landscape and natural wallpapers. Users can choose from exact resolutions suiting smartphones or larger screens. The site has been up and down for the past two months, and it’s not year clear if it’s about to die an untimely death.

Made by artists, DeviantArt’s wallpapers are usually suited to those with more acute tastes.

Known as a respository for stock imagery, Pexels also hosts images large enough to suit as wallpapers.

Another stock image behemoth, Unsplash has a number of Android apps that plug into its database serving the user with fresh wallpapers daily.

Probably best known for its plethora of memes, Imgur has a number of communities that upload wallpapers in bulk. And we mean bulk. These are best found using a Google Search for “Imgur wallpapers”.

If you’re the kind of person who prefers to use memes as wallpapers, look no further than 9GAG. Finding the right resolution is the biggest issue, but those with smaller, lower resolution screens shouldn’t have any issues.

For the discerning wallpaper enthusiast, Reddit has a number of subs dedicated to dressing up your homescreen. From r/amoledbackgrounds to r/S10wallpapers, to simply r/wallpapers, if you can think of it, there’s probably a sub for it.
