Google updates Chrome OS with better navigation and audio control

Chrome OS

Google on Thursday revealed new media and notification updates coming to Chrome OS, the operating system that powers the company’s Chromebook laptops.

“Starting this month, you can open your system menu and see all of the tabs or apps on your Chromebook that are playing audio tracks and control them from one place,” the company said on its blog.

The feature will help users control tabs playing audio faster, minimizing the need to click through them all to find the right one.

Google has also updated Chromebook’s camera interface for better navigation between modes, and the company is working on Portrait mode for the laptop too.

“In response to your feedback, it’s now easier for you to check and clear notifications from Play Store apps on your Chromebook,” Google also noted.

Now users can clear their notifications by clicking “clear all” at the upper right corner of their notification bar.

The new features are currently rolling out, but Google promised more updates in just over a month’s time.
