From the Cape Flats to successful entrepreneur. Andrew is currently the Chief Technical Officer (CTO) and founder of Mobilitrix. The company started in 2006 from Andrew’s home office and now has offices in Century City. He specialises in low-bandwidth LEO (Low-Earth-Orbiting) micro-satellites, GSM/GPS systems and other terrestrial based communication. Andrew contributed to the University of Stellenbosch SUNSAT micro-satellite and was part of the SUNSAT team (based at the Stellenbosch ground station) at the time of NASA launching the SUNSAT satellite into orbit in 1999. Andrew worked for several years in a R&D team, based in Technopark Stellenbosch, developing GSM/GPS vehicle tracking solutions for international and local use - gaining experience designing and developing embedded cellular communication systems and furthering his passion for mobile communications.
