New Xbox looks set for a Christmas 2013 release
According to certain sources close to the Microsoft Xbox family, the new Xbox will be released in time for Christmas 2013, reports Bloomberg. Rumours of a Quad-Core processor, 8GB Ram, Blu-Ray, Kinect 2.0 and more have been floating around for a while now.
Speculation says that Thanksgiving 2013 would be the most likely date as the Xbox 360 had very good sales on the same day when released. Yet the Xbox has seen declining sales in the ever-changing world of games and consoles with mobile phones and tablets gaining in popularity.
A more interactive experience is wanted by gamers and tech savvy customers. Full body motion control and the advent of Microsoft Kinect has changed things dramatically, and rumours are that Kinect will be a major focus of the new Xbox. With the release of the Wii U and rumours of a new PS4, the Xbox will need to evolve as well. Yet the Xbox has sold well over Thanksgiving 2012, even beating the new Wii U over that week in sales.
