HTC One M9 sounds like one hell of a phone, according to new leak
While Samsung‘s due to launch its new flagship Galaxy S6 on 1 March, HTC will also be in Barcelona following in Samsung’s stead and stealing its spotlight. MobileGeeks spotted the phone listed on a German retail site, and duly rang the alarm bell. But interestingly, the upcoming handset seems to embrace the “don’t fix what isn’t broken” philosophy while improving in areas like imaging, battery life and processing power.
At the front, there’s a 5.0-inch 1920×1080 screen, the usual dual BoomSound speakers the world loves do dearly and a 4MP UltraPixel snapper. At the rear, HTC is employing a new 20MP camera that noticeably occupies a lot more space at the rear of the phone and protrudes slightly. It’s not much, but it’s definitely a change from the HTC One M8.
And speaking of the M8, the One M9 will get a beefier hardware set, thanks to the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 810, employed on the LG G Flex 2 and will probably be used in the Sony Xperia Z4 too. Alongside the silicon, 3GB of RAM will ensure that the phone keeps up with its rivals and a rumoured 32GB of internal storage will be offered. The battery may also increase in capacity to 2900mAh.
The phone is listed as 749 euros as well, which means it definitely will give the Samsungs, Apples and LGs of this world a run for their money.
But take all these specs with a pinch of salt until the phone is launched by HTC itself at MWC in a few weeks time.
