LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer shows off some interesting new features

It was only a matter of time before LEGO churned out another Star Wars video game. The Force Awakens will be completely centred around Episode VII.

That’s not entirely true. It will also have additional missions that expand upon the seventh movie, such as how Han and Chewie got the Rathtars.

The game also looks to change up the same old Lego mechanics with a few additions. For one, the trailer shows off aerial combat, which may just offer Star Wars fans something akin to the X-Wing or TIE-Fighter series.

It looks like there are also some bro-shooter mechanics with a cover based system in combat. The trailer also shows off the ability to create different types of items in combat, from a spider droid to a popcorn machine. Yup, it’s going to retain the Lego kookiness.

Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be out 28 June on Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo Wii U, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita. Yup, it’s one of the few franchises that’s still released on every console from this and the last generation.
