Tech giant Samsung has reported its lowest quarterly profit in eight years this week an indicator to the weakened global economy to hit PC…
Whether it’ll be called the PlayStation 4 Neo, the PlayStation 4.5 or the PlayStation 4K, Sony’s latest console could be detailed on 7 September.
According to various reports, the console may be the main event at an official Sony PlayStation meeting in New York City in a month’s time. Although the console might be revealed (not simply announced), there’s no imminent global launch date scheduled.
Previous rumours suggest that the PlayStation 4 Neo will sport enough power to run games in 4K resolution, much like Microsoft‘s upcoming Project Scorpio console. Microsoft has also recently launched its revised Xbox One S, which is slightly smaller than the base Xbox One, with slightly more power.
The meeting will also likely address the global arrival of the PlayStation VR headset, which is scheduled for launch October 2016.
7 September could be a ridiculously busy day for tech journos and consumers alike, especially since other rumours suggest that Apple will unveil the iPhone 7 on the same day. For more info on the iPhone 7, head on over to our rumour article here.
