Gaming peripheral brand, Razer, held its inaugural tech showcase over the weekend to much success, unveiling plenty of hardware and products coming soon.
RazerCon, a day-long event, featured a keynote speech from the brand’s CEO, Min-Liang Tan. It also had product reveals, gameplay demos, developer interviews, and a post-event concert to conclude the event.
Razer Iskur gaming chair
One of the biggest announcements of the day is that Razer is finally joining the gaming chair market with the unveiling of its first gaming chair, the Razer Iskur.
The chair features a lumbar support system with an adjustable padded foam cushion. According to Razer, the support is fully customisable, offering more support than typical gaming chairs.
The Razer Iskur is aimed at giving gamers a comfortable gaming experience while also improving their posture to reduce strains and aches. According to the company, the chair features 26 different adjustable options with additional support from its “4D” armrest system and a removable memory foam neck pillow.
The chair includes adjustments for reclining angle, height, seat tilt, and armrest height and positioning.
The Razer Iskur won’t come cheap though — with a recommended price of $499. Pricing and availability for South Africa have yet to be confirmed.
Other products announced at RazerCon
Razer also debuted refreshed takes on the Kraken Kitty edition (now Bluetooth enabled) and the 13-inch Blade Stealth laptop. The updated laptop now comes with an 11th gen Intel Core i7-1165G7 processor, a new HD OLED touch display option, and THX Spacial Audio.
The company also announced its collaboration with Polish developer, CD Projekt RED, developing a crossover branded peripheral, the Razer Viper Ultimate Cyperpunk 2077 Edition mouse.
Additionally, Razer unveiled its new gaming mascot, Sneki Snek, in collaboration with Conservation International in a bid to support the world’s nature and wildlife.
Razer will launch the official mascot plushie for fans to buy. For every Sneki Snek sold, a contribution will be made to Conservation International to protect ten trees.
