Microsoft Surface Book 3 now available – price for South Africa

Microsoft has launched the Surface Book 3 laptop in South Africa, which the company calls its most powerful laptop yet.

The hybrid laptop joins Microsoft’s growing range of notebooks and tablets that are available locally.

The range includes the Surface 7 Pro, Surface Laptop 3, and the Surface Go series.

“We are excited to expand our Surface family with the addition of Surface Book 3 – our most powerful laptop yet,” said Microsoft South Africa’s Consumer and Channel Marketing Director, Vitesh Reddy.

“It is a portable powerhouse that provides the performance to tackle any task, from intensive video and graphic files to high-octane gaming.”

Anything but surface-level

Microsoft Surface Book 3 South Africa

The Surface Book 3 is a hybrid laptop, which means it can be disconnected from its keyboard base and be used as a tablet.

The Surface Book 3 is available in 13 and 15-inch variants with a 1080p PixelSense touchscreen display. The laptop is powered by a 10th-generation Intel i7 Quad-Core processor.

The 13-inch variant uses an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 Max-Q graphics card, while the 15-inch gets a GTX 1660 Ti Max-Q graphics card.

For commercial customers and higher education institutions, there is a variant that packs an Nvidia Quadro RTX 4000 GPU.

The Surface Book 3 comes with up to 32GB RAM and is available with 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB SSD storage.

Other features include dual far-field studio mics, Dolby Atmos Sound, and USB-A and USB-C ports.

The laptop also has a reported battery life of 17.5 hours.

Microsoft Surface Book 3 price for South Africa

Microsoft South Africa said the Surface Book 3 will start from R37 999, depending on the configuration.

It will be available from Incredible Connection stores.
