Here’s why OpenAI will charge for priority access to Chat GPT

Open AI has announced that it will now monetize ChatGPT with a new pilot subscription plan.

This means users will spend $20 a month for what will be known as ChatGPT Plus where users can write convincingly human-like content using the service.

From essays, lectures, preparing emails and even lyrics to a song, the service stands to deliver a number of benefits.

ChatGPT Plus users will have priority access even during peak times, faster response, and access to other improvements.

While the free ChatGPT service is not going anywhere, ChatGPT will only be available to U.S customers for now.

The process will be rolled out through a waitlist in the months to come, and other countries are more likely to follow with access to the service.

“We launched ChatGPT as a research preview so we could learn more about the system’s strengths and weaknesses and gather user feedback to help us improve upon its limitations.

“Since then, millions of people have given us feedback, we’ve made several important updates and we’ve seen users find value across a range of professional use cases including drafting and editing content, brainstorming ideas, programming help and learning new topics,” OpenAI wrote on their blog.

OpenAI plans to work on different price tiers for the service going forward and the priced tier will be to help support free access.
