InstaGamer brings gaming to Instagram
We all know Instagram is great. There’s a reason Apple named it App of the Year for iPhone in 2011. But even with all its filters it has limited entertainment value.
What if you took the photos from your Instagram feed and turned them into a game? That could be fun right? Turns out there’s an app for that too…
InstaGamer made its way onto the app store a few hours ago and works sort of like the card memory game Pairs. Like pairs you can make your game thematic by choosing to play with photos from specific feeds available on Instagram.
It’s also a little more than that though. While playing — either as an individual or in pairs — you can also like photos so you can view them again later on.
If you’re stats obsessed, the app caters for you too. It claims that it allows you to graph your skills. This means you can track how well you do over time. Great if you’re paranoid about losing your memory.
The app also acts a sort of companion to Instagram. You can, for instance, tap on a photo and discover more about the person who took it.
Look, it’s a simple concept but it looks pretty damn cool.
