At WWDC 2019 on Monday, Apple previewed the upcoming tvOS 13 for Apple TV 4K.

According to Apple, tvOS 13 will make Apple TV 4K “the easiest and most personalized entertainment device for enjoying TV shows, movies, music, photos, games and apps”.

The operating system will feature multi-user support so that different users can access their own profiles, controller support for gamers and a new Home Screen.

“Apps can now play full-screen video previews on the Home screen, so users can quickly enjoy great new TV shows, movies, music and games,” the company said.

tvOS 13 will also include multi-user support for Apple Music, which will display song lyrics on-screen as well.

Furthermore, both PlayStation DualShock 4 and Xbox One S controllers will be supported on tvOS 13 along with access to Apple Arcade when the gaming service launches.

Apple TV 4K will also feature the new Apple TV app and a set of 4K HDR underwater screensavers, filmed by the BBC Natural History Unit.

“These immersive videos captured from the depths of oceans around the world showcase mesmerizing creatures and scenes,” Apple noted.

tvOS is available for preview in the Apple Developer Program, and will launch in the later half of 2019.
