Takealot to pay back R4m to shoppers as part of its Rugby World Cup promo
Takealot has an awful lot of cash to pay back after the Springboks won the World Cup on Saturday.
The online retailer was running a promotion that would pay back the money spent on select Samsung TV sets. It will now reimburse those customers that took advantage of it.
In total 346 shoppers will benefit from the promotion.
“The Boks triumphed over the English at the Rugby World Cup and we are celebrating along with the country,” said Julie-Anne Walsh, Takealot’s CMO.
“Even more so for 346 of our shoppers who bought Samsung TVs as part of the #backthebucks promotion and will be getting all their money back — about R4-million in total,”
Shoppers will be reimbursed within 10 days, the company added.
