It’s official, Zozibini Tunzi has been crowned Miss Universe 2019, making her the third Miss South Africa to earn the title.

The 26-year-old Tunzi was crowned at the Tyler Perry Studios in the United States early Monday morning, where she became the 68th Miss Universe.

Following the announcement, proudly South African fans took to Twitter to express their excitement and offer their congratulations.

Even Oprah took a moment to congratulate Zozibini Tunzi and praise her vision.

The moment has given South Africans yet another international win in 2019, uniting the country as it did during the Rugby World Cup back in November.

On Monday morning, Tunzi tweeted a moving message to “every little girl”.

“Tonight a door was opened and I could not be more grateful to have been the one to have walked through it,” she wrote.

“May every little girl who witnessed this moment forever believe in the power of her dreams and may they see their faces reflected in mine.”
