Watch: Samsung’s offbeat Gear VR ad, set in Karoo
Aside from the actual Galaxy S8 smartphone, it could be argued that one of the more entertaining reveals was a new ad for the Gear VR.
The headset has been available in various incarnations for a while now, but Samsung used ostriches as part of the new spot. In the ad, an ostrich accidentally dons the Gear VR, gradually learning to fly as a result. It’s downright goofy, but it seems to work in this case.
Interestingly enough, the ad was filmed in the Karoo, Samsung South Africa confirmed. Check it out below.
