The iStore’s iPhoneography competition is back and you can enter now. Apple has launched two campaigns to showcase the camera prowess of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. The first was photographs and the second was, released a few days ago, videos. This competition continues on this and you can be part of it.
The competition is adjudicated by iStore and it is now in its fifth year. Entries are opened now and will close on 28 August 2015. That means there is still plenty of time for budding photographers to take photos, as many as you can until you find the one’s you think are fit for a competition.
The competition’s mandatory rule is that images have to be taken with an iPhone and with additional camera add ons like lenses and iPhone photography editing software to be eligible for selection.
Over the years, the competition has unleashed some really good photographs. Taking place in both Johannesburg and Cape Town and with exhibitions in both cities, it has become a chance for iPhone users to take images that will be exhibit.
Entrants are allowed to enter five of their best moments. There are five categories from which you can choose to enter and these are abstract, still life, scenery, portrait, and my SA. There will be a winner in each category in Johannesburg and Cape Town, and then an overall iPhoneography winner.
Judges for the competition include Khaya Dlanga, Mbali Zondo, Rowan Eva, Sky Grove and Marc Forrest.
There are some rules that entrants have to abide by and these include that “all photographs must be the original work of the entrant”. Entrance do no have to pay money for entering but if their photo is chosen the entrant is responsible for all print, mounting & framing costs. And should you change your mind about your entrance, you can pull out.
At the end of the competition, winners stand a chance of winning iPads and MacBooks.
