Looking for more data this Black Friday? We take a look at what South Africa’s big four networks — Cell C, MTN, Telkom, and Vodacom — are offering consumers this year.

Cell C’s Black Friday specials

Following the announcement of its MediaPlay contract packages earlier this year, Cell C is now “is doubling the inclusive anytime data for both MediaPlay Postpaid and MediaPlay TopUp customers who purchase a 24-month contract”.

In a release, the mobile network suggested that the offer is valid for any new subscribers or those upgrading, and will be valid until 6 January 2019.

“The double data will last for the full length of their contract and the data is for any Internet usage as streaming of content on black is zero-rated for Cell C customers until the end of February 2019, leaving customers to do whatever they want with the rest of the inclusive data,” Cell C continued.

MTN’s Black Friday specials

MTN will offer its Mega Deals between 23 and 26 November, which includes “double data deals, a year’s free access to MTN’s 14GB Entertainment Pass, along with freebies that include TVs, tablets and handsets,” the company noted in a release.

My MTNChoice Data packages will receive double the normally quoted data, in addition to 20GB free data (valid for 30 days), and 14GB of data to spend on entertainment for 12 months.

Telkom’s Black Friday specials

Telkom hasn’t yet published its Black Friday specials, which is likely set to include handsets alongside contract packages. They will however go live at 12am Friday morning.

Vodacom’s Black Friday specials

Vodacom will award new contract subscribers with 50GB when they sign up to the network. The data however is only valid for a week after signing.

The company’s also offering a number of deals on smartphones, and the deals will continue through into Cyber Monday.
