Trump, Android and Apple? Twitter weighs in on Huawei’s trade war woes

Huawei was last week banned from trading in the United States, causing a ripple effect over the company’s ties with Google and Android.

It was revealed that the smartphone manufacturer will not have access to Google’s services, the Play Store or Android updates in the future.

“Huawei”, “Google” and “Apple” trended on Twitter on Monday morning, dominating the platform as users reacted to the news and what it could mean for the brand.

Some believe that the move is widely in favour of Apple, after Huawei overtook the company as second biggest smartphone supplier earlier this year.

The Chinese company, however, confirmed that existing Huawei devices would continue to have access to Google and receive important Android updates.

Huawei did not confirm how the ban will affect its upcoming devices.
